LILJEHOLMEN MIXED USE
Location: Liljeholmen, Stockholm
Year: 2024
Client: CityCon
Study for a wooden house with housing and commercial areas creating a front for the Liljeholmen commercial center towards the public park around the lake Trekanten. In contrast to the facades of the surrounding buildings, we have aimed for a design featuring finer details and a textured relief in both the facade and the volume. The long side facing the park is characterized by a vertical wooden structure that extends upward into the pergola of the rooftop terrace, creating a broken silhouette that emphasizes a light and delicate expression. The high ceilings of the ground floor are revealed through large glass panels, and the narrow proportions of the building create a clear transparency through the space, visible from both sides. The facade facing Brinken is made from repurposed stainless steel panels from a building near Liljeholmstorget that will be demolished. This gives the facade a bright, reflective surface, bringing more light into the street space. The project was developed in an study commission in dialogue with our client and the Stockholm municipality.
